Derek Gow – ex sheep farmer famed for bring back the beaver to Britain – is transforming his land into an oasis for nature. Over the hedge neighbour, Derek Banbury, a traditional dairy farmer, is appalled by what he’s seeing “Its not farming. It’s just a mess.”
As the two Dereks square off about everything from wild boar invasions to slurry pits, the film probes what’s at stake for us all. After run-ins and arguments, can there finally be. Meeting of minds that allow nature to flourish and, at the same time, produce enough food for all?

The film depicts a grand piano suspended by a crane and circling above the BBC Television Centre during its conversion into residential property. The film is a lament for the departure of the BBC and to this end uses sound in a new and experimental way. The cranes supporting the piano are symptomatic of the cranes probing the sky all around London.

In 1928 the artists Ben Nicolson and Christoper Wood met the retired fisherman Alfred Wallis in St Ives. His paintings were a revelation to them and his untutored eye symbolised to them naive expressionism.
An unlikely friendship and artistic partnership developed between Wood and Wallis which would have a profound influence on C20 British art.
